a quiet site with beautiful sunsets, lots of birds, rabbits
and trees. We are the closest site to the Shuttleworth collection
which is 5 minutes by car. We have two lovely fields which are
flat hence we are open all year round. We put a lot of time
into maintaining the fields and would ask that you help us look
after them for everyone's enjoyment. Our main field has a fresh
water point, rubbish, recycling and Elsan point. On the edge
of the field is a little wooded area with a stream and there
are various clumps of trees which give protection on windy days
and some privacy ... more

The Rose and Crown has been at the heart
of our community and our vibrant village life at Ridgmont
for over 300 years. While we haven?t been here quite that
long, we?re proud to continue the tradition of good old
fashioned service, home cooked food and a warm welcome for
all! The whole village is delighted that the recently opened
bypass has returned Ridgmont to a quiet rural haven for
families, walkers, caravaners or day-trippers. Woburn Safari
Park is only 500m along the road and the busy city of Milton
Keynes is within easy reach for a spot of retail therapy
or even an indoor snowboarding or skydiving session! So,
whether you?re after a quiet pint after a long country walk,
or outdoor dining in our ample gardens, a local village
celebration, a themed quiz night or a children?s party in
our Stables, there?s always something happening at The Rose
and Crown. ...

WHAT TO DO & WHERE TO GO
Places to visit whilst staying in and around Bedford and Bedfordshire
is the Cecil
Higgins Art Gallery a recently refurbished art gallery and
museum. See some great old vintage aircraft displayed, a historic
garden and a birds of prey centre at the
Shuttleworth Collection
located at Biggleswade. For the
railway enthusiast then check out the
Leighton Buzzard Railway.
One of the great family favourites in the area has got to be
Woburn
Safari Park
and Woburn Abbey
at Milton Keynes. Also another historic building around Bedfordshire
is
Bushmead Priory which has a complete refectory of an Augustinian
priory complete with a fine timber roof.
The author of The Pilgrim's
Progress was born in the village of Elstow and imprisoned for
his religious views in the county town of Bedford, and both
places have many reminders of him. Wildlife, native and exotic,
has a favoured place in Bedfordshire, At Whipsnade Park Zoo
more than 2000 animals roam free, and there is a Wild Animal
Kingdom at Woburn Abbey, showplace home of the Dukes of Bedford.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is based at Sandy'
where visitors ran tour a nature reserve, and there is a garden
of rare birds at Stagsden. Other homegrown attractions include
a lace museum at Luton and a treasure house at Luton
